Safe Sleep with Flame Retardant Free Mattress

Our mattresses are made with safe, CertiPUR-US certified materials that meet all safety requirements that the mattress industry must follow. Amore Beds mattresses provide safe sleep and are free of any heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates.

Our mattresses are not made with any toxic flame retardants. In fact, the US mattress industry generally opposes any standards that require the use of fire-retardant foams that contain harmful chemicals. Our graphite memory foam has naturally fire resistant properties and our pocketed coils are also resistant to fire.

Our mattresses are not sprayed or soaked in any fire retardant chemicals at all. The materials used in our mattresses are mostly naturally fire resistant. The organic cotton and organic wool inhibit the spread of flames to the foam layers.  This layer keeps you cool, relaxed, and safe from harmful chemicals

Sustainably sourced from New Zealand, our inner layer of organic wool is naturally breathable and is able to cushion you with a thin layer of air, which is helpful in regulating your body temperature. Wool is also a natural flame retardant, allowing our mattress to meet FR requirements without using any harmful chemicals, such as boric acid, vinyldene chloride, or melamine – unlike some other mattress manufacturers.

Tips for Mattress Fire Safety

No Smoking. You can easily fall asleep with a lit cigarette in bed, risking igniting your mattress or bedding. Keep candles, lighters, and any other smoking materials out of the reach of children. Also, keep those materials away from your bed to maintain safe sleep.

Don’t fall asleep with a candle burning and put out any candles before leaving the room for an extended period of time. Make sure you have properly functioning smoke alarms in every room.

Turn off any heating devices while you’re not in the room or while you’re asleep such as mattress pad heaters, space heaters, etc. And, of course, in the event of a fire call 911 from a safe location.

Click here to watch a striking demonstration of fire safety on an NBC-TV Today show segment.  Watch the difference between two bedrooms in the same house that is set on fire by burning a sofa in the living room. One bedroom door is left open, while the other bedroom door is closed.

Sleep safe and sound on your mattress knowing it’s naturally fire resistant without any harmful chemicals.

Fire resistance in a bed is a good thing. Didn’t know it was a mandated requirement, but glad to see there’s a non-toxic option. I’m assuming that anyone who doesn’t advertise otherwise is using toxic materials and that’s pretty scary to think about with all those other mattress options out there who don’t say a thing about it.

  • People sometimes disregard it but the materials of our bed affects our health. When we are asleep we are not conscious of the air that we inhale.

  • I never thought that some mattress makers use toxic materials. I wonder if our mattress are sprayed with that too.

  • Fireproof mattresses are one thing we never knew there were safety restrictions for. The clean organic wool route is the path for me.

I love how one feature or material used in Amore Beds does two jobs at the same time. The type of wool they are using is both a comfort and a safety measure in their product. It makes me feel trustworthy of their brand even before buying it yet.
